A journey of a thousand miles often begins with a purposeful step. It is with this sense of purpose that Kanchannagar St. Merry Welfare Society (KSMWS) opened its doors to its first batch of students on 26th January 2016 at St. Merry’s School, Kanchannagar, Burdwan. Providing a safe and vibrant space for the youth to explore, expand and develop, the school aims to instill in its students a desire to develop lifelong learning habits. Reflecting the school’s motto ‘Tamso Ma Jyotirgamaya’, we provide our students with various facilities and opportunities so that they can develop their skills and maximize their potential on their journey from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge.
Our children are our strength and inspiration. Each one of them is a source of potential, which we recognize and respect. We have always aspired to provide education in an environment that not only stimulates their intellectual development but also ensures a strong moral education. We encourage our children to transform their ideas and passions into something fundamental and valuable. We believe that a curriculum of world-class excellence is at the heart of children’s education and that it will equip them with the confidence and strength of character to face the challenges of the 21st century. Having said that, it must be acknowledged that we are a school whose mind, heart and soul are inherently Indian. Deeply connected to the country’s heritage, we pride ourselves on remaining true to our cultural identity, while at the same time providing an educational experience that is world-class in every respect and that prepares children for global citizenship.
As we take a firm step towards the future, our lifelong goal will be to produce leaders who will not only be pioneers in their chosen fields but also have the courage to be agents of change.
